The traditions of hospitality have been ingrained into the very spirit of the family of Jayantha and the late Mohan Panabokke whose ancestors were advisors to kings past. In recent times, together with their late parents they established a legacy in the tourism industry of this nation. introducing to the city of Kandy its first five star hotel.

Now, having regained ownership of their paternal ancestral home, situated 17kms drive from the Kandy railway station, the Panabokke Walauwe, in the village of Panabokke in Wattappola, the origins of which date back to 1885 and is considered a heritage site, they have created an oasis of calm where guests can experience the ancient Sri Lankan traditions combined with every modern convenience.

Athulya Villas, named to showcase its unique qualities and as a tribute to their late father, Atul, is a private complex of 5 cottages built in close proximity to this ancestral home which acts as the centre piece and contains the restaurant and recreational areas in this undulating landscape.
